  • Background: Migrant Family (Daily Laborers)
  • Intervention: Sept 2025 – Dec 2025

Background and Identification

Ranveer Kumar belongs to a migrant family from Bihar that relocated to Hyderabad for livelihood opportunities. During routine weekly SHP visits, our nursing team identified Ranveer suffering from widespread skin infections on his hands, arms, and legs. With his parents working as daily laborers, access to consistent private healthcare was financially out of reach.

Intervention and Counseling

The SHP nurse initiated immediate treatment with appropriate medications and ointments provided free of charge. Beyond clinical care, personalized counseling was provided to Ranveer on hygiene practices like regular bathing and handwashing, as well as the importance of a nutritious diet to support his recovery and immunity.

Monitoring and Outcomes

Through consistent weekly monitoring, the SHP team ensured medication adherence. Within two months, the infections cleared and scars began to fade. This recovery significantly boosted Ranveer's emotional well-being, restoring the confidence needed to focus on his studies and play.

“I am very happy because my skin irritation is gone. Now I can freely play with my friends. My parents are also happy because we could not afford medicines, and the nurse gave them to me for free. I am thankful to the NICE team for taking care of me.”
